Anticipate heightened security and traffic disruptions in La Paz, Bolivia, during a teachers’ demonstration on April 21 and 22 at 9:00 AM. 

Teachers will demonstrate in La Paz, Bolivia, on April 21 and 22 at 9:00 AM. The CONMERB union organized the demonstration to demand higher pay and better working conditions. Participants will gather at the CONMERB headquarters before marching to a currently unspecified location. Organizers anticipate a sizable turnout which will likely cause traffic disruptions and heightened security.

Severe weather is ongoing in eastern Argentina and will continue until at least April 16. Heavy rainfall has flooded roadways and knocked out power in several areas.  An orange alert for rain is in place for Entre Rios province and yellow alerts are in place for parts of Buenos Aires, Corrientes, and Santa Fe provinces. Lufthansa-employed pilots will strike nationwide in Germany on April 16-17, causing widespread flight cancellations. The Vereinigung Cockpit union organized the strike which will significantly affect the Lufthansa airline and its subsidiaries, CityLine and Eurowings  Participants are demanding better working conditions and more robust pension infrastructure. This follows two earlier Lufthansa strikes in April, which caused short-notice flight delays and cancellations.

Iranian officials have refused to meet the deadline, so increased US-Israeli airstrikes will likely lead to further retaliatory Iranian airstrikes on the UAE. Previous strikes targeted heavily populated areas and airports and also prompted widespread airspace closures.
