Responsibilities
SafeAbroad is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Marketing & Sales Coordinator to drive sales and partnerships for our travel risk management services in the education and institutional sectors. As our Marketing & Sales Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base by effectively promoting and selling our services.
Sales Development & Lead Generation:
- Identify potential clients and engage in lead generation activities.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand client requirements.
- Develop tailored proposals and presentations showcasing SafeAbroad services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transition from prospect to client.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet and exceed targets.
- Utilize market research and industry knowledge to identify sales opportunities and trends.
- Implement a consultative selling approach, tailoring solutions to address client pain points.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements in collaboration with the legal and finance teams.
Marketing and Social Media Engagement:
- Leverage marketing materials and resources to enhance sales efforts.
- Utilize social media platforms and digital channels to promote SafeAbroad services and engage with potential clients.
- Coordinate SafeAbroad’s presence in webinars, conferences, and events.
- Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns and strategies to boost brand visibility.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in sales and marketing, preferably in the international education industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, especially in a remote working environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in utilizing social media and digital marketing for sales initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field, but preference given towards Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

NOTE: This is a temporary contractor position. 1099 Independent Contractor.
Project Deliverables:
Deliverable 1: Create a comprehensive, step-by-step project plan that outlines achieving the following end deliverables:
- Rebranding the SafeAbroad website.
- Developing SafeAbroad’s new brand identity, marketing, and designs.
- Publish SafeAbroad assets and templates aligned with the organization’s new branding.
Deliverable 2: Complete the update of SafeAbroad’s brand and visual identity, including but not limited to the company’s logo, color palettes and typography. The contractor will make distinct creative mock-ups for leadership to review and choose from, prior to the contractor developing the final brand identity and guidelines.
Deliverable 3: Complete an end-to-end refresh of SafeAbroad’s website using WordPress, implementing the company’s new brand identity and ensuring a seamless and intuitive UX. Ensure the migration of existing SEO and setup of 301 redirects; maintain website security measures. Conduct a UI/UX audit of the current site to identify friction points before implementing the refresh. Ensure all existing lead-capture forms, “Contact Us” pages, and external links are tested and functional within the new design. Perform comprehensive cross-browser and mobile responsiveness testing.
Deliverable 4: Update all company assets in their native format, including but not limited to the following, to align with the company’s new brand guidelines. Create an organized library of all final brand assets, source files, and templates.

Selection Criteria:
- Proven track record with website creation, design, and previous graphic design experience.
- Intermediate to advanced experience using WordPress, preferably with the Elementor add-on. Must be able to manage themes, plugins, and custom post types. Ability to troubleshoot styling and formatting issues.
- Strong understanding of Technical SEO, including URL redirects, metadata management, and image optimization to ensure no loss of search ranking during the site refresh.
- Experience implementing a “user-first” mentality, ensuring intuitive user experiences.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, previous experience in a remote environment a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Ability to ensure the updated brand colors and website typography meet standard contrast and readability requirements.
- Proven ability to self-manage complex projects with multiple moving parts. Must demonstrate a structured approach to project timelines, feedback loops, and asset handoff.
- Portfolio should demonstrate experience with brand refreshes or migrations, showing the ability to modernize an existing identity while maintaining brand equity.

Intelligence Analysts
Intelligence Analysts are the heart of SafeAbroad’s operations. They monitor global risks, assess threats, write country risk reports, and develop creative safety and security solutions.
SafeAbroad has four different teams which Intelligence Analysts can join (see below). Analysts can join as many teams as they have time for, but each analyst is expected to join at least one team.
Tactical Intelligence team
Our Tactical Intelligence Team analysts specialize in producing real-time intelligence products. They create and publish Advisories, “The Week Ahead” weekly publication assessing upcoming events across the globe, and assist in briefing clients on a monthly basis.
Special Projects Team
Our Special Projects Team analysts develop and produce a variety of different products according to SafeAbroad’s needs. Prior work includes the Crisis Simulations, Annual Risk Forecasts, the Diverse Travelers Website, and the Safety Abroad Summits.
Data Studio Team
Our Data Studio analysts develop, improve, and implement dashboards to creatively and effectively visualize our data for SafeAbroad and its clients. No background knowledge of coding is required.
