On August 13 students will hold demonstrations intended to denounce One Nation party leader Pauline Hanson and policies she supports. The largest demonstrations are anticipated at the Town Hall at 1:00 PM in Sydney, at the State Library at 2:00 PM in Melbourne, and outside the Parliament House at 1:00 PM in Adelaide. Travelers should expected a heightened security presence near protest sites as well as potential traffic disruptions along protest routes.

The Virgen de la Paloma Festival will draw thousands of people to Madrid, Spain, from August 13–16; expect localized delays.

Thousands of people will attend the Virgen de la Paloma Festival, taking place in the La Latina neighborhood from August 13 to August 16. The main events, celebrating the Feast of the Assumption, will take place on August 15. The festival includes traditional dances, a procession, and other cultural and religious events. Extremely high congestion on public transportation and pedestrian roads, as well as heightened security, are expected throughout La Latina.

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck San Jose del Palmar and Quibdó, Colombia, on August 10; rescue efforts are ongoing.

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Chocó Department, Colombia, on August 10, causing 1,495 injuries and destroying 5,000 buildings, as of August 11. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports the earthquake occurred at 12:30 PM. The earthquake was felt across Colombia, including Bogotá, prompting the evacuation of buildings and homes. Local authorities are assessing the extent of the impacts, reporting over 250 deaths.
