Over 1 million visitors are expected to travel to Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The Festival Fringe is the world’s largest performing arts festival, spanning 3 weeks and hosting over 3,000 shows across the city of Edinburgh. The event will attract attendees, visitors, and media outlets from outside of the United Kingdom. An Increase in travelers is anticipated to cause traffic disruptions, pressure on public transport and heightened security for crowd management.

The 5th Annual State of the Nation Address will occur in Quezon City, Philippines, on July 27; heightened security expected.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will deliver the State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa Complex, on July 27 at 4:00 PM. Approximately 20,000 police officers will deploy for security operations. Officers will be placed around staging areas, protest venues, and transport hubs, and closing roads around the Complex. Local authorities will enforce a lockdown policy from July 23 to July 27, restricting access to the Complex for official visitors only. Localized travel disruptions and clashes with police are likely.

Political protesters are expected to gather around Taksim Square, Istanbul, Turkey, on July 7 at 7:00 PM; heightened security expected.

Hundreds of protesters are expected to participate, resulting in localized travel delays in Istanbul’s city center. Clashes with local authorities are likely, as the Turkish government has banned protests, is using enhanced force at protest sites (e.g. tear gas), and has arrested hundreds of protesters.

Millions of spectators will travel across France for the Tour de France, from July 4 to July 26.

This event attracts between 10 -12 million international spectators, visitors, and media.The increase in travelers will cause traffic disruptions around southeastern France. This year’s route will start in Barcelona, Spain and will end at the Champs-Élysées, Paris. Cities hosting the starting and ending stages will experiences the most intense traffic delays and extended road closures.

Pride parade is expected to attract tens of thousands in Rome, Italy, on June 20 at 3:30 PM.

Unionized airline employees will go on strike across three airports in Paris, France, on June 18; expect travel delays.
