Heavy rainfall and flooding will disrupt travel across parts of Chile through July 22; exercise heightened caution.
Health officials have confirmed four chikungunya cases and identified 17 probable Playa Langosta among residents and visitors. Chikungunya is transmitted through the bites of infected Aedes mosquitoes. Authorities have fumigated approximately 5,000 homes, and expanded mosquito-control operations. Additional locally acquired cases remain possible as rainy season conditions favor mosquito activity.
