The Quilpituk wildfire burning west of Okanagan Lake expanded significantly on August 7th, prompting the Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre (COEOC) to extend evacuation orders to an additional 321 properties in the Central Okanagan Regional District. Additional evacuation orders or alerts remain possible if fire activity intensifies. Road closures, reduced visibility from smoke, and localized disruptions are expected in affected communities.
