El Encierro, or the Running of the Bulls, takes place daily at 8:00 AM from July 7-14 during the San Fermín Festival. Despite the cultural significance, the event is widely regarded as highly dangerous. Participants can face serious risks, including trampling, goring, falls, and collisions in narrow, fast-moving streets where reaction time is extremely limited. The event is expected to draw heavy crowds, disrupt local travel, and prompt an increased security presence.

Planned water outage will affect Cape Town, South Africa, from June 29 to 30; service disruptions expected.

A planned 24-hour water outage will begin at approximately 10:00 AM on June 29 and continue until 10:00 AM on June 30. The outage is part of an assessment of critical water supplies and will affect several neighborhoods, including Durbanville, Philadelphia, Fisantekraal, Klipheuwel, and areas served by the Voëlvlei pipeline. Heightened security measures are expected around polling locations and government buildings nationwide.

The FIFA World Cup opening match will take place in Mexico City, Mexico, on June 11; heightened security expected.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 opening match will take place at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on June 11. Mexico will host 13 matches across Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey through July 5. Large numbers of domestic and international visitors are expected. Authorities will station over 55,000 police officers and 20,000 military personnel to support event security operations.
