Anticipate disruptions to travel in Mexico on April 6 due to multiple planned highway blockades.

Incident Details

The National Truckers Association (ANTAC) and the National Front for the Rescue of the Countryside (FNRCM) will conduct highway blockades across Mexico on April 6, in opposition of the government’s lack of protection of workers from extortion and insecurity. Media reports indicate that these will likely occur at multiple Mexico-City highways, Culiacan-Mazatlan highway, Morelia-Patzcuaro and more. In November, truckers blocked seven major roadways, with the blockade now impacting ten roadways, and potentially more.
