Bulgaria will hold presidential elections on October 25, with a possible runoff on November 1; expect delays near voting stations.

Incident Details

Around seven million people are eligible to vote. About half that number is expected to appear at voting stations around the country. The two main candidates are the incumbent Iliana Iotova and the pro-EU opposition figure Andrey Gyurov. All past presidential elections have proceeded to a runoff vote, meaning the election will likely continue to the second round of voting scheduled for November 1. Traffic during the day will be concentrated near designated voting stations.
