Over the coming hours, activists will continue to demonstrate across South Africa to denounce an increase in electricity prices from proposed tariff hikes. Demonstrations are taking place in public squares, major roadways, transportation hubs, and government buildings across all nine provinces. Police are present, and demonstrations are disrupting travel on roads and walkways. Essential services may be delayed.

From September 18 at 10 PM to September 19 at 6 AM there will be a power outage across Ecuador.

The outage will impact transportation and businesses, leading to potential disruptions in internet service, ATMs, and fueling stations. Electronic security systems may also be affected, which could increase the risk of criminal activity.

Until at least September 19, severe weather due to Storm Boris will continue across Eastern and Central Europe.

Storm Boris continues to batter Central and Eastern Europe, bringing heavy rainfall and severe flooding throughout the region since September 12. Transportation has been severely disrupted in affected areas, with rail services suspended and hundreds of roads shut down across several countries. Thousands have been evacuated across Austria, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Slovakia.

The overflow of two dams on September 15 has caused severe flooding in Poland and prompted a state of emergency.

On September 15 in Poland the Międzygórze reservoir and the Stronie Śląskie reservoir were both overwhelmed by recent severe rains. The overflow resulted in Bystrzyca Kłodzka being evacuated. Temporary shelters have been set up in schools and the Gorzanów Palace. The flooding in southern Poland has caused two deaths  and has led the Prime Minister to declare a state of emergency.

Parades will be taking place around the Estadio Nacional, and will likely block most travel within the capital. Due to recent protests and parade crowds, security will be heightened in most major cities.
