Incident Details
French health authorities have reported 43 cases of Legionnaires’ disease (a severe pneumonia spread via contaminated water) in the Savoie department since June 1, resulting in at least 41 hospitalizations and 2 deaths. The investigation is centered on Chambéry, where 25 patients lived or recently visited. A source is currently unidentified, but initial results from water samples are expected by August 17.
Traveler Safety
