Protestors will march illegally from Bastille to Nation in Paris, France, on October 31; expect clashes with police.

Interior Minister of France Laurent Nunez has forbade protestors from gathering in city centers. Student protest organizers in Paris have announced their intention to march from Bastille to Nation in defiance of the order. Expect heightened security, possible clashes, dispersals, arrests, and business closures along the route.

Peaceful protests across Germany may be infiltrated by extremist groups intending to incite violence; avoid protests and expect heightened security.

The ‘Gen-Z Stands Up’ movement has planned protests in 21 cities across the country to demonstrate against high cost of living, unemployment, and in solidarity with French protests. The organizers have called for the protests to be peaceful, but German authorities have warned that leftist groups may exploit the occasion to incite violence. Halloween has traditionally seen an uptick in disturbances by teen groups setting off fireworks, which may add additional chaos.

Protests across Western Europe will spread and escalate from October 31 through the weekend; expect heightened security and violence.

Hundreds of thousands of protestors are expected to gather in countries including the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, and Italy. Levels of violence will vary, but some right and left wing extremist groups have made plans to infiltrate demonstrations to cause escalation. Affected countries will deploy heavily armed police and are coordinating to prevent cross-border coordination of unrest. Protests may also occur in other European countries.
