  • Geneva, Switzerland: Protest Advisory | On January 31, public transport unions will strike for better salaries and working conditions. Minimum services will be provided, but plan for transport disruptions, including to and from Geneva International Airport. 
  • Zagreb, Croatia: Protest Advisory | On January 31, protesters will gather at Saint Mark’s Square at 11:00 am to denounce legal amendments criminalizing the unauthorized release of investigative journalistic content. 
  • Athens, Greece: Protest Advisory | On January 31, protesters will gather at Kaningos Square to demand better wages and working conditions for construction workers, engineers, and architects.
Americas
  • Nationwide, Mexico: Weather Advisory | Through January 29, expect poor weather in the form of rainstorms and strong winds followed by cold weather, snow, and sleet. Heavy rainfall could lead to flooding in lowlands, and the following cold weather could lead to icy conditions. Monitor local weather reports and remain indoors.
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina: Protest Advisory | On January 30, protesters will march from the city center to the National Congress, where they will hold a rally. Avoid protests and plan for travel disruptions. 
  • Machu Picchu District, Peru: Travel Advisory | Over the coming days, Machu Picchu Popular Collective members are expected to continue an indefinite strike over the privatization of historical site tickets. Activists are also protesting along railway lines, suspending rail transport between Ollantaytambo and Machupicchu. Plan for travel disruptions.

  • Cape Town, South Africa: Disaster Advisory | Over the coming days, emergency services will continue to respond to a wildfire in Table Mountain National Park.
