  • Dominican Republic: Health Advisory | A nurse strike and associated protest will cause disruptions to healthcare across the Dominican Republic on January 28. Nurses are striking to bring attention to several unaddressed labor demands. An associated protest in front of the National Palace will take place at 9:00 in the morning. Delays to medical services are expected, with emergency services still available. Travelers are advised to reconfirm medical appointments. They should also avoid the protest.
  • Brazil: Weather Advisory | A dangerous amount of rainfall will hit southern Brazil through midnight of January 26.   • Karnataka, Inda: Protest Advisory | Statewide protests in Karnataka, India will take place until February 12 over several political demands. Protesters are voicing opposition to proposed changes to rural social welfare and employment by the national congress. Blockades and travel disruptions are likely during this period, especially in Bengaluru. Travelers are advised to avoid all protests. They should also plan additional travel time to account for delays.

  • Nairobi, Kenya: Protest Advisory | Healthcare workers will protest outside of government offices in Nairobi, Kenya on January 27. Workers are demanding the implementation of several agreements made with the government last year. Transport workers will strike across Lima, Peru, on March 5 over driver killings and extortion; expect citywide travel disruptions.

The Association of Urban Transport Service Operators of Peru will lead a 24-hour strike involving more than 8,000 transport workers across Lima. Drivers will suspend services and convoy from Plaza 2 de Mayo and Plaza San Martin to the Government Palace and Congress. Organizers protest rising killings and armed extortion targeting drivers. Airlines have partially resumed operations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Travel delays will continue until at least March 6. Air travel slowed in the UAE after several airports were struck by Iran. Not all ongoing flights are commercial, as airlines are assisting with evacuations.
