The Southern region of Mexico is currently experiencing heavy rainfall and an incoming surge of storms this weekend that is expected to generate heavy flooding. The weather conditions may cause landslides and hail. Individuals should expect travel disruptions until 13 June. Affected areas include Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Tabasco, Veracruz and Puebla.
Pro-Palestinian activist groups are planning a demonstration on 12 June at 13:00 local time in front of the residence of Boris Johnson. These groups will be protesting during the G7 Summit which is taking place in the UK and will be supporting sanctions against Israel and for governments to stop selling arms and other military equipment to the Israeli government.
A demonstration is scheduled to take place on 10 June at the Plaza Lidice in San Jeronimo, Alcaldia Magdalena Contreras at approximately 11:00 local time. The demonstration will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the massacre of student activists on 10 June 1971. The duration of the protest remains unknown.
Starting at 08:00 local time on 23 June until 08:00 on 24 June, an estimated 200 emergency response system workers will go on strike to demand improved labor environments. The strike falls on St. John’s Day which usually receives a high volume of calls. Specific areas that will be affected by the strike are Barcelona and Tarragona.
On 9 June a wildfire began west of Jerusalem around the towns of Abu Ghosh and Neve Ilan. The fire is continuing to spread and police and rescue personnel have began to evacuate citizens as they try and stop the spread.
A state of emergency remains for all of the Canterbury region on South Island due to the widespread flooding. Roadways in the area have been severely damaged, including the Ashburton Bridge on State Highway 1, causing major travel disruptions. Restoration efforts are underway. Adverse weather conditions will continue over the next few days.
On 5 June in Frankfurt, Germany at 16:00 local time there are plans of a pro-Palestinian demonstration which may cause disruptions. Participants are set to gather at Frankfurt Central Station. Disruption may increase travel times and disrupt railway travel. Demonstrations are due to recent hostility between Israelis and Palestinians.
On 2 June, police responded to a bomb threat near the District Court building in Gothenburg. Police are currently investigating and have blocked off areas of the Ullevigatan Road. Expect heightened security forces in the area in the coming hours.
Recent clashes between Israel and Palestine have sparked military operations throughout the region. Israeli Defense Forces have urged civilians in the Gaza area to leave as they intend to carry out strikes. In addition, Tel Aviv and surrounding areas have been targeted by missile/rocket attacks. Casualties have been reported.
Travelers can expect moderate to significant delays at airports throughout Italy on 15 May as workers intend on participating in a strike throughout the country. Workers at Florence Regional Airport and Pisa International Airport are expected to participate.
