Between October 9 and 24, bus workers will strike and protest across Baix Llobregat to demand improved working conditions at Avanza and Nitbus. Strikes are planned on October 9, 15, 17, 22 and 24. Affected areas include Gavà, Viladecans, Castelldefels, Sant Boi, Sant Joan Despí, and Sitges. Routes to Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN) will likely be impacted. Police presence and disruptions on roads and walkways are likely at any demonstrations that materialize.

As of October 4, severe flooding and landslides in Bosnia and Herzegovina have left 16 dead and ravaged local infrastructure.

Flooding and landslides have occurred across Bosnia and Herzegovina as of October 4. The destruction has been centered in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, including the cities of Mostar and Konjic. The municipality of Jablanica has been the most affected, with 16 dead so far. Infrastructure in the region has been heavily damaged.

Presence of security forces will likely be heightened due to the significance of the October 7 anniversary. Until October 5, Typhoon Krathon (Julian) will cause strong winds and heavy rainfall across Taiwan. Two deaths and 123 injuries have been reported so far. After making landfall near Kaohsiung, the storm is forecast to move north, likely downgrading to a tropical storm by October 4 around Douliu City and then moving west into the Taiwan Strait. Landslides and flash floods are likely, particularly near hills and in low-lying areas.

Since September 29, a wildfire that began near Xylokastro, Greece, has spread in the south of the country.

Since September 29, a wildfire that began near Xylokastro has spread in southern Greece. It has caused several towns to be evacuated and the shutdown of the highway between Athens and Patras. Over 350 firefighters have been deployed to stop the fire alongside specialized aircraft. Similar fires are expected to break out in the southeastern Aegean, including Rhodes.
