As of 16 November, Australian officials have eased domestic COVID restrictions. The 6-phased approach will remain in place, but seated venues will need to stay at a maximum of 60% of full capacity. The two-square-meter rule is still in effect. Restrictions on large social gatherings and social distancing will remain in effect.
There is an ongoing security operation on 12 November in the Normandy region. Members should avoid the vicinity of Rue Pablo Neruda in the coming hours due to a shooting incident. At least one person has been injured and taken to the hospital. The police have yet to apprehend the perpetrator, and the motive behind the shooting is unknown. Expect a heightened security presence.
From 5:00 local time on 14 November until 5:00 on 30 November, Lebanon will impose a nationwide lockdown to limit the spread of COVID-19. Measures include closing all public institutions except for those providing essential services, limiting public and private transportation, and imposing a curfew from 21:00-05:00.
Following an announcement of lockdown measures, the government announced that it will impose a 21:00 local time to 05:00 nationwide curfew beginning on 13 November to curb the spread of COVID-19. During the referred hours, movement will only be permitted for individuals working in vital sectors and patients in need of treatment or hospitalization. The curfew will reportedly remain in effect until further notice.
On 11 November, Poland will celebrate its Independence day. Protests by far-right and anti-fascist groups expected all over the country, with a particularly heavy presence in the capital of Warsaw. Heightened security presence is also expected due to Covid restrictions, and police are expected to break up all large demonstrations in Warsaw.
On late 11 November, Tropical Storm Vamco (Ulysses) is expected to strengthen to a typhoon and make landfall late in the evening into Thursday. Winds are expected to reach 96 mph (155 kph) for much of the Luzon and Metro Manilla area. Heavy rainfall is also expected across the Luzon region. Vamco will likely bring flooding, landslides, and possible utility, transit, and business disruptions should be expected.
An explosion occurred at a doctor’s office in Gothenburg shortly after 11:00 local time on 11 November. Two women, one severely, were injured by the explosion. Police are investigating the cause of the blast as well as the nature of the device used. Travel near Första Långgatan can resume and a heightened police presence is expected in the near term.
Unionized petroleum workers are anticipated to protest on 11 November. Participants are expected to gather in front of the Portaria de Regap (Refinaria Gabriel Passos) at 07:00 local time. The protest is to assert petroleum workers’ labor rights and to demand the reinstatement of dismissed workers who were unlawfully dismissed. The participants are also calling for the replacement of the directors involved.
Because of the increase in COVID-19 cases as well as heightened risk of crime and terrorism Peru issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice. Areas at risk of crime and terrorism are the Peruvian border area in the Loreto Region, The Valley of the Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM). Also, areas within the Departments of Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, and Junin.
On 9 November, Tropical Storm Ulysses formed out of a Tropical Depression in the Philippine Sea. Ulysses is forecast to become a severe Tropical Storm in the next 24 hours before strengthening further to become a Typhoon on 11 November, prior to its landfall in the Bicol-Quezon area on 12 November. Moderate to heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected.
