Doctors will strike and protest in Catalonia, Spain on March 19-20; expect disruptions to public and private healthcare.

Doctors from the private and public sector across the region will participate in strikes to call for improved working conditions. This is the second strike planned by the Metges de Catalunya Union, with additional strikes planned until July. Previous strike saw participation nationwide, with over 1000 doctors from Barcelona taking part. Associated protest will be held on March 19 at Plaça Universitat in Barcelona at 11:00 AM and a protest march on March 20 from Hospital del Mar to the Parliament of Catalonia at 10:30 AM.

Doctors will strike for 24-hours disrupting healthcare services across Greece on March 18.

Doctors affiliated with the Federation of Hospital Doctors’ Association of Greece (OENGE) have announced a 24-hour nationwide strike on March 18. The strike is in response to low wages and chronic understaffing in Greece’s public hospital system. OENGE is the main association of hospital physicians in the Greek National Health System, and represents tens of thousands of doctors and nurses in Greece’s public hospital systems. Healthcare disruptions are expected, though emergency department will operate with limited staff.

Youth-led protesters will gather in multiple cities across Germany on March 5, in response to new laws on military service.

Youths part of the ‘School Strike Against Conscription’ group will protest and strike across multiple cities in Germany on March 5. The protest will take place at multiple times across the different cities from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Protesters will gather at significant locations, including major bridges, the main train stations, and historical monuments. Road closures and travel disruptions are expected. Previous protest by this group drew 55,000 participants nationwide.

A 24-hour nationwide strike expected to cause travel disruptions in Argentina on February 19.

A 24-hour nationwide general strike is expected to disrupt Argentina on February 19 following a call by the Confederación General del Trabajo. The strike is  in response to President Javier Milei’s proposed labour reforms. Disruptions are expected to impact public transport services, local traffic and potentially air travel. Recent protest in relation, resulted in hundreds of injuries, heightened police presence is expected and force tactics may be used to disperse crowds if it poses as a disturbance to bystanders.
