From October 29-30, medical workers will strike and protest in Peru, causing disruptions to medical services nationwide

From October 29-30, thousands of healthcare workers with the Federacion Medica Peruana will strike and protest nationwide. Demonstrators will gather outside the Ombudsman of Peru Headquarters and hospitals nationwide to demand increased healthcare funding and better career advancement opportunities. Disruptions to hospitals and clinical services are expected

On October 30, transportation workers will go on strike for 24-hours across Argentina.

On October 30, transportation workers with the National Transportation Board will go on strike nationwide. Workers responsible for operating airplanes, freight trucking, trains, boats, and taxis will demand higher wages and better union rights. Disruptions to both business and transportation are expected. Demonstrations may also take place outside government buildings. Clashes between protesters and police are possible.

On October 24, protesters will gather in Lima, Peru to to mark Peruvian Construction Workers’ Day.

On October 24, approximately 50,000 demonstrators from the Federation of Construction Workers of Peru (FTCCP) will gather at the Plaza Dos de Mayo. The demonstration will mark Peruvian Construction Workers’ Day which will take place on October 25. The demonstrators will also call for increased security measures for the construction sector. The time of the protest is currently unknown.

Through at least October 21, education workers will go on strike in Peru to demand higher wages.

Since October 16, education workers from the Unitary Union of Education Workers of Peru (SUTEP) are on strike indefinitely to demand higher wages. Demonstrations are expected to last through October 21 and have taken place in Lima, Arequipa, Ica, and Tumbes. Clashes between law enforcement and protesters are possible. Disruptions to classes are likely.

The United States Embassy issued a security alert for religious institutions in Romania from October 11 to October 13.

Between October 11 and 13, attackers may target a synagogue, mosque, or temple, causing risks to safety and possible travel disruptions. The United States Embassy in Romania issued an alert after becoming aware of possible threats targeting religious institutions. This coincides with the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.
