Typhoon Podul (Yangliu) is forecast to make landfall near Hualien and Taitung early on August 13, and will later move northwest towards China. Kaohsiung city, Hualien, Pingtung, and Taitung counties will all be affected. Winds of up to 96 mph and at least 24 inches of rainfall are expected. Flash floods and landslides are possible. Typhoon Podul’s trajectory and intensity may change with short notice.
