The U.S. operation in Venezuela has caused massive flight disruptions across the Caribbean on January 3.

Incident Details

Major airline cancellations are taking place on January  3 following the U.S. operation in Venezuela. Following the military operation that captured Venezuelan President Maduro, the Federal Aviation Authority ordered U.S. carriers to avoid parts of eastern Caribbean airspace. Hundreds of flights have been cancelled by multiple carriers, including non-domestic airlines. Over 50 percent of Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport have been cancelled.
