Incident Details
On June 16, the US Embassy released a Security Alert regarding Jordanian civil defense alarm system. The Embassy has indicated that there may be continued missiles, drones, or rockets flying over Jordanian airspace. The Jordanian Government has activated civil defense alarms in preparation of such projectiles entering the airspace.
Traveler Safety
SafeAbroad travelers should familiarize themselves with the different alarm tones, and what to do in the event of the alarm’s activation. Travelers should note that messages associated with the civil defense alarms are in Arabic. Should the alarms sound, seek shelter until the all clear siren.
