Incident Details
Government measures in Southeast Asia related to oil shortages will probably continue until shipping through the Strait of Hormuz resumes after its closure on March 2. Some governments implemented shorter workweeks, rationed gasoline, cut some domestic flights, and implemented energy-use restrictions. The Philippines declared a state of emergency over the oil shortage on March 24. Until resolved, these shortages will cause worker strikes and protests.
