From November 10 to November 16, security will be heightened across Lima, Peru, for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. Over 13,000 law enforcement officers will secure Lima International Airport, the Lima Convention Center, the Ministry of Culture, the Gran Teatro Nacional, as well as 19 hotels. Checkpoints, snipers, and bomb squads will be established. Roads may be closed around the city.

Travelers should expect road delays and allow for additional travel time. Expect checkpoints and random searches. Follow the directions from authorities and carry identification. Use caution and situational awareness at all times.
