  • London, United Kingdom: Health Advisory | Over the coming weeks, the risk of contracting mpox clade 1b will be elevated, after a case was reported in London. Clade 1b spreads more easily and has a higher fatality rate than other strains. The virus spreads through close contact with infected individuals, animals, contaminated items, or respiratory droplets. Symptoms include rash, swollen lymph nodes, blisters, fever, sore throat, headaches, muscle aches, and exhaustion.   • Mexico: Security Advisory | Over the coming weeks, Mexican authorities will likely implement increased security measures in western states including Nayarit due to the arrest of Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) leader Armando Gomez Nunez, aka ‘El Delta 1’ in Jalisco on October 28. Increased patrols and checkpoints are likely throughout the region. Clashes between CJNG members and security forces are possible. Travelers are advised to avoid Nayarit State until further notice.   • Mexico: Health Advisory | Until at least December, the risk of contracting dengue fever will be elevated in Mexico due to residual effects from the wet season. 54,641 cases were reported between October 9 to October 20.   • Bolivia: Protest Advisory | Until at least mid-November, supporters of former President Evo Morales will continue roadblocks across major highways.   • Sydney, Australia: Protest Advisory | On November 9 at 1:00 PM, activists affiliated with the Stop the War on Palestine movement will gather at Saint Peter’s Park near North Sydney Station before marching to the United States Consulate General on Miller Street. One dead and 13 injured following a shooting at the Teotihuacán Pyramids in Mexico on April 20; expect heightened security.

A gunman has opened fire at the Teotihuacan Pyramids on April 20. The armed individual opened fire from the top of the Pyramid of the Moon resulting in one death and 13 injured. Authorities assess the attack is a lone-actor incident. The incident is no longer active following the perpetrator’s self – inflicted gunshot wounds.
