  • Nationwide, United Kingdom: Protest Advisory | From January 29-February 6, train union workers will strike across the UK. Rail companies will have a reduction in services, and cancellations are possible. Plan for alternative travel. 
  • Geneva, Switzerland: Protest Advisory | On January 31, public transport unions will strike for better salaries and working conditions. Minimum services will be provided, but plan for transport disruptions, including to and from Geneva International Airport. 
  • Zagreb, Croatia: Protest Advisory | On January 31, protesters will gather at Saint Mark’s Square at 11:00 am to denounce legal amendments criminalizing the unauthorized release of investigative journalistic content. 
  • Athens, Greece: Protest Advisory | On January 31, protesters will gather at Kaningos Square to demand better wages and working conditions for construction workers, engineers, and architects.

  • Nationwide, Mexico: Weather Advisory | Through January 29, expect poor weather in the form of rainstorms and strong winds followed by cold weather, snow, and sleet. Heavy rainfall could lead to flooding in lowlands, and the following cold weather could lead to icy conditions. Monitor local weather reports and remain indoors.
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina: Protest Advisory | On January 30, protesters will march from the city center to the National Congress, where they will hold a rally. Avoid protests and plan for travel disruptions. 
  • Machu Picchu District, Peru: Travel Advisory | Over the coming days, Machu Picchu Popular Collective members are expected to continue an indefinite strike over the privatization of historical site tickets. Activists are also protesting along railway lines, suspending rail transport between Ollantaytambo and Machupicchu. Plan for travel disruptions. 
  • Los Lagos, Chile: Disaster Advisory | Over the coming days, the San Antonio wildfire is expected to continue burning near Puerto Montt, potentially prompting evacuations. 70 people have been evacuated from Las Canchas and Las Cahuellas.   • Northeastern Queensland, Australia: Weather Advisory | Over the coming days, the remains of Tropical Storm Kirrily will pass over northeastern Queensland, bringing heavy rains and potential flash flooding. Monitor local weather reports and be aware of flash floods. 
  • Canberra, Australia: Protest Advisory | On February 4, protesters will demonstrate outside the Sri Lanka High Commission to advocate for an end to discrimination against the Tamil people in Sri Lanka. Plan routes avoiding protests.

  • Cape Town, South Africa: Disaster Advisory | Over the coming days, emergency services will continue to respond to a wildfire in Table Mountain National Park. Evacuation notices have been issued for parts of the park, and more evacuations may take place. Monitor local news media and air quality alerts. 
  • Istanbul, Turkey: Security Advisory | Over the coming days, investigations of a shooting at an Istanbul church on January 28 are likely to cause travel disruptions around the church.

From April 22 to April 30, the 2026 Asian Beach Games will take place in Sanya, China, across multiple locations. The Asian Beach Games are an event held every four years, featuring 14 sports and nearly 2,000 athletes from at least 45 countries. The event will cause localized road closures, traffic congestion, and public transportation delays. Local security will increase significantly due to the event. Nearly 118,000 tickets have already been sold for the event.

One dead and 13 injured following a shooting at the Teotihuacán Pyramids in Mexico on April 20; expect heightened security.

A gunman has opened fire at the Teotihuacan Pyramids on April 20. The armed individual opened fire from the top of the Pyramid of the Moon resulting in one death and 13 injured. Authorities assess the attack is a lone-actor incident. The incident is no longer active following the perpetrator’s self – inflicted gunshot wounds. Security forces, including police and the National Guard have responded and confirmed the site has been secured and under control.
