A kidnapping attempt took place at Zapopan’s Plaza Andares in Guadalajara, Mexico on October 2. Military forces were deployed to the mall, which led to a shoot-out with the criminals. At least one person was killed and six more were injured. More police officers have since been deployed to the vicinity to deter further criminal activity. Heightened security in the area is expected for the coming days.
