The Rock en Seine music festival is an annual five-day, multi-genre event that will take place from August 26 to August 30 at Domaine National de Saint-Cloud. Last year, the event attracted approximately 150,000 attendees, prompting a heightened security presence around the venue. Additionally, public transportation will experience increased pedestrian congestion, causing transit delays, especially out of Boulogne – Pont de Saint-Cloud, to and from the venue during peak performance periods. - London, United Kingdom: Security Advisory | Expect localized disruptions in London from August 29 to 31 due to Notting Hill Carnival. The festival is expected to draw between 1.5 to 2 million visitors. The event is organized to celebrate British Caribbean culture and will feature masquerade bands, multiple parades, and sound systems. - Wallonia, Belgium: Travel Advisory | A strike by bus and tram workers will disrupt LeTec journeys across Wallonia in Belgium from August 27-28. The strike will affect Wallonia, the southern half of Belgium over the course of the two days. No specific routes have been named as being cancelled by LeTec, the major transportation provider whose employees will strike, however previous strikes led to significant delays. - Asunción, Paraguay: Protest Advisory | On August 25, IPS members will demonstrate in Asunción and other Paraguayan cities. The National Coordinating Committee of Active and Retired Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS) Insured Members has called for nationwide demonstrations, including a gathering outside the Attorney General’s Office in Asunción. Similar demonstrations are planned in other cities across Paraguay. The demonstrations will demand that prosecutors advance investigations into alleged financial mismanagement at IPS and seek compensation for losses attributed to former IPS presidents Vicente Battaglia and Jorge Brítez. The August 25 demonstrations follow previous mobilization efforts by IPS members over shortages of medications and medical personnel, financial management concerns, and calls for the government to declare a health emergency within the institution. Tropical wave #35 will bring more rainfall to the already inundated Caribbean and Northern regions of Costa Rica. Costa Rica’s meteorological agency warns that potential floods could form quickly due to soil saturation of 90-95% in some areas. - Buenos Aires, Argentina: Travel Advisory | Expect significant disruptions to flights due to the three day closure of the country’s busiest airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from August 25-27. Aeroparque Jorge Newbery will be closed from 9:00 AM August 25 to 4:00 PM August 27 for preventative maintenance. No flights will operate at this location for 55 hours. Around 900 flights are affected by this closure, including those provided by Aerolíneas Argentinas, JetSmart, Flybondi, LATAM, GOL, Andes and Sky. Travelers are advised to reconfirm their flights. They should also monitor flight schedules for information about any cascading delays following the resumption of operations.
- Lima, Peru: Disaster Advisory | Expect residual disruptions in several southern neighborhoods of Lima, Peru, following heavy rains and flooding that prompted a temporary state of emergency. The neighborhoods of Villa El Salvador and Villa María del Triunfo were placed on a 60 day state of emergency on August 23 following previous heavy El Niño rains. The rains caused flooding that closed roads and caused significant damage to many buildings. Travel in the area will be heavily disrupted as rebuilding efforts continue and essential goods are delivered. Travelers are advised to avoid the neighborhoods of Villa El Salvador and Villa María del Triunfo. They should also build in extra time for travel when traveling near these neighborhoods.

- Australia: Protest Advisory | On August 30, anti-immigration protesters will hold marches across Australia. Major March for Australia protests will be held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, and Adelaide, and smaller marches may be held in additional cities. Similar protests on August 31, 2025, attracted thousands of attendees from numerous right-wing organizations. Those protests were accompanied by pro-immigration counter-protests, and clashes between police officials, counter-protesters, and protesters occurred. - Vietnam: Security Advisory | The Vietnam National Day Holiday Celebrations will take place from August 29-September 2. The annual holiday commemorates the day that President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi. The five day celebration consists of parades, traditional performances and celebrations at historic sites and landmarks. - Japan: Weather Advisory | Typhoon Saudel is forecast to approach Japan from August 25–27, with the storm expected to bring strong winds, heavy rainfall, dangerous seas, and potential flooding to parts of southern Japan, particularly the Okinawa and Amami Islands. As of August 23, Saudel was classified as a very strong typhoon by the Japan Meteorological Agency, with maximum sustained winds of approximately 165 km/h. - Antalya, Turkey: Security Advisory | Expect heightened security at Antalya airport over the next week following a murder on the premises on August 21. The shooting was a targeted killing where a retired police officer shot his wife near Terminal 2 of the airport. - Tunis, Tunisia: Protest Advisory | On August 20, hundreds of protesters demonstrated in central Tunis, calling for President Kais Saied to resign and for the restoration of democracy. - Johannesburg, South Africa: Disaster Advisory | Expect residual disruptions to the supply of electricity throughout Johannesburg, South Africa over the coming days. A fire at a substation broke out on August 23 and caused a major power outage in the capital. The outage also shut down water supply to some parts of the city. Most of the city has had their power restored, although authorities warn that some residual disruptions may come yet over the next few days as the city works to repair broken infrastructure.
