Incident Details

Seafarers with the Panhellenic Maritime Federation and various other unions across Greece will strike all day on May 1 over workers’ rights issues. The unions oppose new legislature that would make them work 13 hours a day instead of 8, and demand better technology on ships. The unions will also protest at Syntagma in Athens at 10:30 AM, and at Venizelos Statue in Thessaloniki at 10:30 AM. The strike will impact all maritime transport, including ferries.
