Disruptions expected amid protest by unionised transport workers in Indonesia, on May 20.

Incident Details

Unionized transport workers will strike across Indonesia for 24 hours on May 20, and protest at 1:00 PM at the Ministry of Transport, House of Representatives and the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Additional gatherings are likely. The Indonesian Transportation Workers Union (SPAI) organized the action to denounce an app-based ride-hailing service accused of violating transport regulations. Thousands are expected to participate. Heightened security is expected.
