  • São Paulo, Brazil: Travel Advisory | Starting March 26 at 4:00 AM, unionized rail workers from Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) will strike indefinitely to denounce the privatization of several lines in the São Paulo rail network. The work stoppage is expected to primarily disrupt the 11-Coral, 12-Safira, and 13-Jade lines. Additional forms of transport may be delayed due to increased demand.   • Kuta, Indonesia: Travel Advisory | Starting March 29 at 6:00 AM, flight operations at Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (aka Denpasar International Airport) will be halted for 24 hours in observance of Nyepi Day (Day of Silence). All flights will be suspended during the work stoppage. Travelers are advised to reconfirm flights and adjust travel plans as necessary.
  • Sydney, Australia: Protest Advisory | On March 29 at 1:00 PM, protesters with the Palestine Action Group Sydney will gather near the Archibald Fountain at Hyde Park to commemorate Palestinian Land Day and denounce the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.   • Zimbabwe: Health Advisory | Over the coming weeks, travelers will be at increased risk of cholera exposure. Between December 6 and March 12, 608 suspected cases and 15 deaths were reported. Affected areas include Harare, Kariba, Chiredzi, Beitbridge, Bindura, Mazowe District, Mt Darwin, Hwedza, and Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe (UMP). Cholera spreads via contaminated food and water. Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea, which may lead to severe dehydration. Travelers are advised to use bottled, boiled, or treated water, avoid raw fruits and vegetables, and ensure all food is thoroughly cooked. Follow strict hygiene practices. Consider vaccination and carrying a water purifier. Report any symptoms to health officials.
  • Zambia: Health Advisory | Over the coming weeks, the risk of contracting Mpox will be elevated. As of March 21, at least 31 confirmed cases of Mpox have been reported across multiple provinces in Zambia, including Muchinga, Lusaka, Copperbelt, and Western. One death was also reported in Chipata on March 20. Travelers should avoid affected areas and contact with potentially infected individuals. Practice frequent handwashing, and refrain from consuming or handling meat and products from wild animals. Ensure vaccinations are up to date, and report any symptoms to health officials immediately.
  • Monrovia, Liberia: Protest Advisory | On March 25, protesters with the Student Unification Party (SUP) will rally outside the Liberian Football Association (LFA) headquarters to demand the resignation of the LFA president due to alleged corruption. The meeting time is unconfirmed. Minor clashes between police and protesters are possible. A related demonstration on March 18 led to violence when protesters threw rocks and tried to gain entry into buildings. Railway workers in São Paulo, Brazil, have planned an indefinite strike beginning on March 26. 

Beginning March 26, workers at São Paulo’s public rail operator, Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM), will launch an indefinite strike to protest the privatization of Lines 11-Coral, 12-Safira, and 13-Jade. The strike is expected to disrupt service on these lines. Lines 7-Rubi and 10-Turquesa will remain unaffected, as they are represented by a different union.
