Protest in Berlin, Germany Set to Take Place on July 19

Far-left groups have planned a demonstration to denounce neo-fascist sentiments allegedly promoted by far-right party Alternative for Germany. Protesters believe that far-right groups are promoting an agenda that is contributing to a rise in racist and Islamophobic incidents in Germany. The protest will take place at Hermannplatz at 16:00 local time on July 19.

Severe Weather Forecasted to Hit Mexico Through July 16

Severe thunderstorms, hail, and possible flooding are forecasted to develop in western and southern Mexico at least until July 16, 2020. Forecast models indicate the strongest activity will occur in southern Jalisco, Colima, eastern Guerrero, and southwestern Oaxaca. Gusts in excess of 97 kph (60 mph) are possible and could cause power outages.

Flooding and Severe Weather Expected to Continue in Assam, India Until July 16

On July 10, floods began in the Assam region of India affecting more than 1.3 million people and causing at least 44 deaths. Several roads, bridges, embankments, and other infrastructure have been damaged due to heavy rain, landslides, and erosions. The Brahmaputra River is also flowing above the danger level. Severe weather is likely to persist until July 16. Expect travel disruptions.

World War II-era Bomb Disposal Operation in Potsdam, Germany on July 15

Authorities will begin the disposal of an unexploded World War II-era bomb at 8:00 July 15. Authorities will impose an 800 meter (2,600 feet) exclusion zone around Arado Lake, where it was discovered. All buildings within the exclusion zone must be evacuated by 8:00, including residences. Numerous roads will be closed and S-Bahn metro trains from Berlin will stop at Potsdam-Babelsberg station until the operation has concluded.

Protests to Take Place in Paris, France on July 14

On 14 July a protest is planned to begin at Place de la Republique and will march to Place de la Bastille. This protest by healthcare workers coincides with another rally planned by the Yellow Vests. Security may forcibly disperse the protesters, creating risk for bystanders.

Nationwide Protests in Brazil on July 10

Activist groups in Brazil have called for nationwide protests throughout Brazil on July 10 to denounce President Bolsonaro and the government’s mismanagement of the nation during the COVID-19 outbreak. Protests are expected to follow social distancing guidelines but police and Pro-Bolsonaro group violence is still likely to occur.

Severe Weather to Strike South Africa Again on July 10

Severe weather conditions in Western Cape have caused travel disruptions. Vehicles have been damaged and stranded on the N2 highway near Baden Powell Drive, Cape Town, and a road between Villiersdorp and Worcester. Hundreds of residents across Western Cape have been affected by widespread power outages due to weather conditions. Another cold front is expected to hit Western Cape on July 10, in the afternoon or evening. The cold front will bring heavy rain, snow, gale-force winds.

Nationwide Protests in the Philippines Likely to Continue Until July 9

Protests denouncing the government’s Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 are likely to last until July 9 nationwide. Protests are likely in major cities such as Metro Manila and Cebu City. Demonstrators previously gathered at multiple university campuses and may also march or motorcade in city centers. Transportation is expected to be impacted or delayed.
