Between 12 October-14 October, Tropical Cyclone Nangka is expected to make landfall on Wanning, China. Typhoon warnings have been issued for Hainan and Guangxi province. Anticipate heavy rain and associated disruptions in the southern provinces. Flight disruptions are possible at Hainan’s Haikou Meilan, Sanya Phoenix, and Guangxi’s Nanning Wuxu international airports.
Travelers in Bangkok should plan journeys accounting for disruption due to a pro-democracy demonstration on 14 October. Strikes organized by the Air Traffic Controllers Association (EEEKE) and the Union of Electric Engineers for Air Traffic Safety (ENIMAEK) over unpaid salaries will occur nationwide on 7-8 October. On both days, EEEKE workers will be on strike from 08:00 to 12:00 local time and ENIMAEK workers will be on strike from 12:00 to 16:00 local time.
On 6 October, an unexploded Second World War ordnance was discovered during construction works in the area of Luxemburger Strasse in the Klettenberg district. Operations to dispose of the ordnance are expected in the coming hours. People are required to evacuate the vicinity until the bomb is defused.
