Major wildfire in Occitane, France, causes significant disruptions and evacuations over the coming hours.

The Ribaute fire has consumed 10,000 hectares (24,710.5 acres) and has closed two major motorways (A9 and A61). The wildfire started in Ribaute, France, due to winds of up to 24.9 miles per hour. The fire is said to be spreading around 3.1 miles per hour and 1,250 firefighters are attempting to put it out. This wildfire is ongoing, and is likely to continue to cause disruptions. 

Expect global disruptions amid pro-Palestinian protests at Egyptian Embassies starting July 26.

Disruptions are likely to occur around the world at Egyptian Embassies due to pro-Palestinian protests starting on July 26. Multiple civil society groups have called for demonstrations to denounce Egypt’s alleged involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict. Events are likely to be well attended and security forces may be used to disperse crowds. There may be potential risk to bystanders.

Expect disruptions to transportation and travel services following severe flooding from tropical storms across the Philippines until July 26.

On July 22, Tropical Storm Francisco and a tropical depression intensified monsoon rains, causing severe flooding in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro. A state of emergency was declared in several cities with schools and offices closed across more than 20 provinces. Nearly 100 flights at Manila’s airport were cancelled, though the airport remains operational. Rainfall and flood-related disruption are expected to continue until at least July 26.

Civil defense alarms have been activated in Jordan as of June 16; seek shelter immediately if alarm sounds.

On June 16, the US Embassy released a Security Alert regarding Jordanian civil defense alarm system. The Embassy has indicated that there may be continued missiles, drones, or rockets flying over Jordanian airspace. The Jordanian Government has activated civil defense alarms in preparation of such projectiles entering the airspace.

Residual disruptions expected following shooting which led to the death of former Ukrainian politician in Madrid, Spain, on May 21.

On May 21, Andriy Portnov, a former Pro-Russia Ukrainian Politician was shot several times outside Colegio Americano de Madrid. The police were called around 9:15 AM and reported that several people attacked Portnov and fled to a nearby forest area. Investigations are ongoing and police continue the search for the suspects.

Disruptions expected amid protest by unionised transport workers in Indonesia, on May 20.

Unionized transport workers will strike across Indonesia for 24 hours on May 20, and protest at 1:00 PM at the Ministry of Transport, House of Representatives and the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Additional gatherings are likely. The Indonesian Transportation Workers Union (SPAI) organized the action to denounce an app-based ride-hailing service accused of violating transport regulations. Thousands are expected to participate. Heightened security is expected.

Over the coming hours, expect travel disruptions in London, United Kingdom, due to a May 12 power failure affecting London Underground operations.

A power outage occurred at 2:30 PM in London, disrupting underground services. While power has been restored, the cause is still unknown and metro disruptions continue to be ongoing. The Bakerloo, Weaver and Suffragette lines have been suspended and there are severe delays on the Elizabeth, Circle, Jubilee, and Piccadilly lines. Multiple stations have been closed including Covent Garden, South Kensington, and Tottenham Court Road.
