Demonstrations are scheduled to occur on 11, known as National Student Day, and 18 August. These demonstrations are planned to take place at multiple universities. These protests are planned against President Jair Bolsonaro and the Brazilian government for the handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and over election and voting law concerns.

There have been evacuation orders of more than 290,000 people across many cities in Japan.
