On November 22 at an unspecified time, over 100,000 people with the Communist Party of Nepal – Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML) will demonstrate at the Bhadrakali Temple. The march will pass through New Road Gate, Bir Hospital, Ratna Park, and Tri-Chandra Campus, and will conclude at Durbar Marg. The event has been organized to promote the values of the Communist Party and denounce anarchy.
From November 15 to 18, heavy rain and winds will affect northern Honduras due to Tropical Storm Sara. Up to 30 inches of rain and heavy winds are projected. Severe flooding and landslides are likely. Significant travel delays are expected.
From November 20 to 22, members of the SNCF railway union will strike nationwide. The strike will begin at 7:00 PM on November 20 and last until 8:00 AM on November 22. The strike is in opposition of the proposed plan to discontinue the Fret SNCF freight operator in 2025. Associated demonstrations are possible.
On November 11 at 2:00 PM, approximately 100,000 people will march from the Rondo Romana Dmowskiego to the National Stadium to commemorate Polish Independence Day. Counter-protesters will march from the Plac Konstytucji to the Plac Trzech Krzyży. Significant traffic disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected.
On November 4, red warnings were issued for Catalonia due to heavy rainfall and flooding. Currently 15 flights have been cancelled and roads leading to the airport are blocked, causing severe disruptions to El Prat Airport in Barcelona. Several highways have been closed and all commuter trains in northeast Catalonia have been suspended. This follows storms in Valencia which has killed at least 217 people.
On November 12, Metro unions will strike to demand higher pay, more flexible work schedules, and other employment amenities. This follows strikes that will occur from November 1-8. Significant travel disruptions are expected causing further disruptions to businesses. Associated demonstrations are likely to take place.
On October 25 at 3:00 PM, protesters will march from the Marques de Pombal to the Assembly of the Republic. The protest will condemn police brutality after a 43-year old man was killed on October 21 in a police chase. Clashes are expected after previous demonstrations turned violent and were forcibly dispersed by law enforcement.
From October 29-30, thousands of healthcare workers with the Federacion Medica Peruana will strike and protest nationwide. Demonstrators will gather outside the Ombudsman of Peru Headquarters and hospitals nationwide to demand increased healthcare funding and better career advancement opportunities. Disruptions to hospitals and clinical services are expected
On October 30, transportation workers with the National Transportation Board will go on strike nationwide. Workers responsible for operating airplanes, freight trucking, trains, boats, and taxis will demand higher wages and better union rights. Disruptions to both business and transportation are expected. Demonstrations may also take place outside government buildings. Clashes between protesters and police are possible.
On October 24, approximately 50,000 demonstrators from the Federation of Construction Workers of Peru (FTCCP) will gather at the Plaza Dos de Mayo. The demonstration will mark Peruvian Construction Workers’ Day which will take place on October 25. The demonstrators will also call for increased security measures for the construction sector. The time of the protest is currently unknown.
