Flooding and an explosion in Victoria, Seychelles, have killed three and injured 178 on December 7.

On December 7, severe flooding in the Seychelles islands killed three people and injured dozens more. During the flooding, a blast at an explosives storehouse injured over one hundred people and caused further infrastructural damage in the capital, Victoria. 178 people are confirmed injured in the events thus far. Travel disruptions are expected as flooding and rescue operations remain ongoing.

Expect an elevated security presence along the Quai de Grenelle in Paris, France, following a deadly stabbing on December 2.

On December 2, a man armed with a knife and hammer attacked three people, killing one, along the Quai de Grenelle in Paris, France, near the Eiffel Tower. The assailant reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” before the attack, and was listed on several terrorism watchlists. Police apprehended the attacker, but certain areas in the vicinity remain closed. An elevated police presence will cause disruptions in the area while investigations continue.

Around 1:00 PM,  pro-choice groups will gather at Te Aro Park and pro-life activists will gather at Civic Square. Both groups will then march to the Parliament Building. Clashes between protestors are possible, and traffic disruptions are likely along the march routes.

In northern Italy, several labor unions will carry out a general strike affecting public and private transit services in Lombardy, Piemonte, and Liguria. Affiliated protests are likely during the strikes, with confirmed demonstrations set to take place at Genoa’s Stazione Marittima and Modena’s Piazza Grande at 9:00 AM.

A series of Gilets Jaunes protests may cause significant disruptions in cities across France on November 17.

On November 17, the Yellow Vests activist group will hold a series of protests in cities across France. All demonstrations will begin at 8:00 PM in the following locations: the Parvis du Sacre-Coeur in Paris; the Prefecture in Marseille; Place des Terreaux in Lyon; Place Pey Berland in Bordeaux; the Mairie in Lille; and Place Saint-Georges in Toulouse. The actions are commemorating the movement’s fifth anniversary and calling for economic reforms. Traffic disruptions and a police presence are expected near the demonstrations.

Affiliated demonstrations are likely to take place during the strike.
