South African Elections Bring in Soldiers for Added Security from October 30 to November 3

Incident Details

The South African government has increased security measures due to upcoming local elections from 30 October to 3 November. Approximately 10,000 soldiers will be deployed at various locations during voting and provincial results centers while the results are finalized. There is an increased risk of violence in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Western Cape, and Eastern Cape.
