Since June 26, severe storms and flooding in Chile have caused thousands of evacuations and widespread structural damage. Nearly 10,000 people have been stranded, with thousands more displaced. Hundreds of structures have been destroyed, and major evacuation orders are in place for regions including: the Santiago Metropolitan area, Bio Bio, Maule, Valparaiso.  Effects from the flood are expected to linger as the floodwater takes time to dissipate.
