Incident Details

Heavy rains that started Saturday 29 February, have caused severe flooding, infrastructure damage, landslides, and impassable highways due to fallen trees and debris including highways linking Santos to São Paulo. Further rainfall is casted in the coming days. 

Traveler Safety

Plan alternate travel routes. Avoid walking through flooded streets as water currents can sweep a person off their feet if the current is strong enough. Be aware as water can be electrically charged due to downed power lines. Contact your program leaders if you have questions. Monitor the incident via local news and social media.
