Until October 5, Typhoon Krathon (Julian) will cause strong winds and heavy rainfall across Taiwan. Two deaths and 123 injuries have been reported so far. After making landfall near Kaohsiung, the storm is forecast to move north, likely downgrading to a tropical storm by October 4 around Douliu City and then moving west into the Taiwan Strait. Landslides and flash floods are likely, particularly near hills and in low-lying areas.
