On June 8, a vehicle was driven into a crowd in the Breitscheidplatz public square in Berlin, Germany. One person has died and at least eight people sustained serious injuries. The driver has been arrested, but his motive remains unclear. Over the coming hours a heightened security presence is expected in the area.
