Incident Details

On July 13, students attending Omar Bongo University in Libreville, Gabon began protesting and demanded that their scholarship funds be granted to the students. Students barricaded themselves in university buildings and blocked nearby roadways with burning tires. Police have used force to combat the lock-in, and will continue to be stationed around the university to crackdown on any additional protests.
