Heatwave to Continue Striking Portugal and Spain Through July 17

Incident Details

Forecasts indicate that a heatwave will persist through at least July 17 across portions of Portugal and southern and western Spain. Temperatures of 35-40ºC (95-104ºF) are expected throughout much of the affected area. The extended period of intense heat could cause increased wildfire spreads, heat strokes, warped rail tracks, and severe dehydration.
