Continental Europe – Travel Ban into the U.S.

Incident Details

Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a travel ban from Europe to the U.S., not including the UK. The travel ban will last 30 days beginning from Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:59 PM. The travel ban restrictions will not apply to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected groups, as well as to flights entering the U.S. before 11:59 PM on March 13. Refer to the US Department of State for a full list of exceptions.

Traveler Safety

SafeAbroad travelers in Europe, excluding the UK, are advised to return to the U.S. at this time as entry back into the country may become more difficult.  Contact your program leaders first with any questions. Monitor the incident via local news and social media.
