On October 25, the US Embassy issued a Security Alert for Lima, Peru, warning of armed robbery and cellphone theft. Increased crime has been reported in areas where U.S. citizens are known to live and travel, including Barranco, Miraflores, La Molina, and Surco.

Traveler Safety
